On Armor Bearer

This is the second book in a triology,

“Chronicle of the Three.”

The first book,

“Bloodline” was originally released under a different publisher

Has been re-released

Blue Ink Press.

Here’s the link to my post about that book:

if you are more into youtube,

here’s a recent review by The Little Librarian:

I have been blessed

with an early read

of book #2

in the trilogy.

It’s good.

Very good.

This time

I did not read

only one chapter

a day

(in an attempt to pace myself),
I indulged,

I’m glad I did.

Two & half days later,

sitting by the fire,

I read what I discoverd was the last sentence…

Am I going to have to wait

a year

for book three?!

Armor Bearer starts fast,

doesn’t slow down.

The writing is full of wit
– even more than

the 1st book.

There are new characters,

who I like.

As well as more of Maggie,

whom I enjoy.

The plot will stick with you…

I woke up

the 2nd morning

into the read

with this line

from the book

repeatedly running through my head:

The Destroyer has a name

even the lowest shadows know it.”

There are more than one

love stories…

Need I say more.

evil has a plan,

Pride is their weakness.

Those who fight the darkness

You find out WHO the Armor-Bearer is.

And before it’s over,

you see even an angel asking for help.

Tabitha Caplinger has a
Very impressive imagination,
Colliding with knowledge,
years of youth ministry,
All surrounded with the unconditional love
of Our Maker, God.

I’m looking forward to buying this book:

“Chronicle of the Three: Armor Bearer”
(& Bloodline)
for birthday gifts in 2017!

I hear there’s going to be a lollipop shirt!

I’ll update when I know more,

For now

feel free to browse merchandise

from the 1st book in the trilogy

on the author’s site:

on Rich Mullins

“Awesome God”

one of the songs I find myself humming, often.

Written by this man.

Katie introduced me to his music,

which I am forever grateful.

His songs have ALWAYS helped me,

when going thru hard times.

I watched “Ragamuffin” – the life of Rich Mullins last night with Kurt.

“He lived honestly and did not conform.”

He never knew how much he made,

he didn’t want to know.

His accountant donated the majority of his money to churches and charities.

I also learned he died 5 months to the day after my Dad in 1997.

That summer the world lost Mother Theresa and Princess Di too.

What a year.

The year I graduated from college.

Then today

on my Faceook memories –

In 2011

at my aunt’s church,

the assistant pastor was preaching:

“Pharisees had it all right doctrinally,

they looked in the face of Jesus Christ and rejected Him.”

– Pastor Steve Moreno

There’s live-scenes of Mullins

at his concerts

during the credits.

Good stuff.

He reminds the audience that going to church is better than buying a ticket to a concert. “They love u and care for you.”

One of my in-laws got to see him live.
It affected him.
He really did go around bare-foot!
His story
reminded me of my desire to work on an Indian Reservation
I got my nursing degree… my Dad died weeks before I graduated,
changing my life forever.
I didn’t have another plan,
clearly God did. Romans 8:28
His life… I’m so curious…
My Dad was from Indiana too.

I can’t believe he died in Peoria, IL…

at age 41.

I was 41 and 1/2 years old, to the day, the night I watched the movie about his life…

I sense there is something You want me to do, to be… I will do my best to obey.

I love You.

He was born October 21,

I watched the movie about his life on the 22nd.

He would have been 60 his year.

Did they ever release his Jesus album?

He wrote and recorded

on cassette

in his boyhood church (the songs for it) before he died.

Not in a studio.

I still cry whenever I hear Michael W. Smith sing his songs… crying now. Cried last night watching the movie.

I found this while researching:

Michael W. Smith said of Mullins, “His life and music has impacted me more than anyone I know.”

“…Rich refused to let his struggles… tear him away from a God he was determined to love.”
I’m so glad Katie & I went to all those Christian concerts. They helped me.
I’m so glad Mom had me in church in the womb.
I’m glad I’m still in church… where people want to know God more.
Off to watch the deleted scenes,
there’s a message from Dave Mullins (?brother?)…
commentary too.
Lots about his life, I want to research… what is God trying to tell me? I will seek until I find.

It’s raining…

God is good.

I’d like to bake today too.

I think God has called each of us

to live for Him

to fulfill the call He has on our lives

to spread the Word about Him.

In my research I found more I want to see and hear:

Homeless Man,

a video documenting Mullins’s life,

includes the testimonies of hundreds of people,

from Colombian and Navajo Children

to pastors and pop musicians,

who were deeply touched by time spent with him.

Recently Myrrh records released

The Jesus Record.

It features ten demos recorded by Rich in an abandoned church just nine days before his death.”

Katie says this record is one of her favorites.

She’s been listening to him since high school,

never saw him live.

on grace… when u need it

I broke out singing Rich Mullins, “Awesome God” today

adrenaline rushed thru my system causing my entire body to shake and my voice to tremble.

I was glad.

I was alive.

I should have died. I’ve stopped counting the times …

This time, a car ran a red light…

By God’s grace, I was able to stop my car in the nick of time… I drove on wondering if I lost any part of my bumper…

2nd time this year that I wondered if was car was damaged…

It’s a virtual tank.

A gift from God.

Last week, about the same time of day…

another car, bigger – nicer – newer was IN MY LANE as I came around a corner on a country road… how I stopped is still TOTALLY God.

His Grace.

He is amazing.

He is my song.

Thank you Rich Mullins for giving me the words.

“My God is an awesome God…”

on the war within.

Playing the piano this morning made me realize I have a war going on within me…

been an emotional few days.

I want to be happy. It’s who I am.

Currently though fighting low-energy, irritation & frustration… I’m not mad. Almost sad.

Yet my hope is in God.

I thank Him for putting a tool (the piano) in my life that helps me. Gives me energy…

It’s beautiful. It’s sounds bring me more beauty. It helps me to understand myself… I play how I feel… sometimes happy notes, sometimes sad notes, sometimes angry sounding notes… today was both sides of the spectrum.

I use to do the same thing when I drew… happy faces, sad faces, angry faces… more of the latter when I was a teen… aahh hormones!

Can we really help/know others unless we know ourselves? The Bible says we love others as we love ourselves. How many people really like themselves? Accept themselves as they are? People are my passion, but they are also, well, frustrating…

I frustrate myself too.

I accumulate piles. Projects. Ecclesiastes speaks that it is better to finish than to begin. I ‘learned’ that years ago reading the Bible, but alas, I still find myself wanting to do MORE than I possibly can in a day, a week, a season.

Peace really is the guide.

I realized that too this morning when writing about clothes. I try NOT to keep anything unless I feel beautiful in it. I like variety, but not at the cost of peace. I don’t have to hold on to things that don’t fit either ‘cuz that’s not trusting God to provide… and trust me, He provides! I’ve been MANY different sizes this last year, and God provided just what I needed along the way. Most of it I didn’t even have to buy… it was given to me!

Ya think He’s trying to TEACH me something!

Hopefully I won’t have to keep going around ‘this’ particular mountain (like the Israelites in the wilderness)… hopefully I’ve learned my lesson = God provides.

Helps with greed,

with work,

with people/relationships.

We don’t have to STRIVE, we can trust… He’s got our backs.

Aaaahhh the war within settles down and peace pervades… my emotions, my thoughts and my body relax.

God is good.

All the time.

I can trust Him… with everything.

John 8:31-32 = know truth, truth sets you free.

Did I mention he does all this because He loves us!

Zephaniah 3:14-18

He will quiet you by his love”

on piano

Recently my family was given one for free.

Isn’t the Lord amazing!

My Mom wants to learn how to play, and I’ve even seen my brother playing it!

My Mom’s Mom use to play music by ear, on the guitar… but I don’t want calluses on my fingers … so this has been GREAT!

Music makes me feel more alive = I was beyond tired last night, but playing the piano energized me = same thing happened this morning, been feeling, well negative emotions – and – out of it mentally and physically… just plain tired & grumpy… but once again, the keys ringing out their tunes, made me well better = happier = energized = more coherent.

Thank You Lord for blessing me.

Psalm 3:21b God’s Word Translation:

“A righteous person is generous and giving.”

verse 26a:

“He is always generous and lends freely.”

Named for it’s founder’s son. Rufus Easton thought the site would be a great steamboat landing… watch re-enactors share it’s rich history… including Abe Lincoln… and the world’s tallest man, Robert Wadlow (8feet-11inches).
