on Gold

“Why Job remained faithful

Job could not ‘find’ God, but he knew without a doubt that God found him = “He knows the way that I take.”  Job knew that God had not overlooked one moment of his agony, and he had HOPE in a very precious promise: ‘when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.’

Gold is not “finished” until it reaches a point of perfect luster.  The chief objective of the refiner is to bring the gold to a point of greatest reflection.  The gold IS not as costly for its own sake as it is for the sake of that which it reflects.  It is the light which exposes its qualities.

Interestingly, the Greek word for glory is doxa which means to give a correct estimation of. For instance, according to 1 Corinthians 10:31, we are ‘to give correct estimation of God’ in all that we “eat, drink, whatever we do.” In other words, our actions are to reflect God’s actions (what they would be) in that situation.  Job believed that his trials would result in his own refinement in God and God’s own reflection in him.  Job placed his hope in the truth expressed in Romans 8:28 long before it was ever written!”

on the Fall

I’ve had an opportunity to do more outside this fall… it’s been wonderful!

For the first time in my life I think I’m starting to understand more why people like this time of the year.

Usually the Fall is when my allergies are the worse… dust… everything is dying,

the wind blows the beautiful colorful leaves off the trees… more dust…

Yet this year, regardless of sinus issues, it’s been wonderful! There’s almost NO BUGS!  It’s so easy to work outside…

The ‘heat’ … that’s even if it gets warm, is totally tolerable…barely sweating!

I can sit down on the swing, cool off in a few minutes and go back to it. Can’t do that in July!

I’ve taken the last 5 summers off, and I’ve gotten more gardening done in the last 2 months in just a few days then all those summers! Thank You Jesus!

I’ve just heard the weather… 84 degrees today… God loves me!

I hope your Fall has been one of the best in your life too!

on patience

I’ve been having a hard time with this one lately… especially in regards to my time…

“Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.

Instead, make up your mind

not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way”

-Rom. 14:13

on life

Writing a friend… about life… and wrote this:

“…faith. I don’t know why some people deal with health issues, others with $ issues, others with relationships issues, etc., but me thinks it’s cool that God brings us all together to help us with our strengths and weaknesses. He’s so smart. Trusting Him… being thankful/grateful… I know He has a plan for each of us that is better than anything we could think up! God is good.”
