Life without caffeine.

Well…it’s been good.

Really good actually.  I have energy that’s more consistent.  I’m not bothered by as much stuff.  I’m stopping to smell the roses more often.

:)

I only have coffee about once a week now, and lately I’ve noticed it’s still having a negative effect.

I woke up at 1am today.  No real reason.  Only difference:  my assistant and I decided to brew some dark goodness the morning before, but HELLO I stopped drinking it while it was still in the am.

Pity.

SoS 2:7

A friend recently mentioned this scripture to me…

it stuck out

and
made me want to check out some of the words on dictionary.com
:)
There’s a lot of data here, but I think it’s worth the read when you have the time.
:)

Song of Solomon 2:7 (New International Version)

Daughters of Jerusalem,
I charge you by the gazelles
and by the does of the field:
Do not arouse
or
awaken
love
until it so desires.
awaken = cause to become awake or conscious, make aware, to start (a feeling of interest, guilt etc)

arouse = to stir to action or strong response; excite, to stimulate sexually, to awake or become aroused, call forth (emotions, feelings, and responses); summon into action or bring into existence, to begin moving,
—Synonyms 1. animate; inspirit, inspire; incite, provoke, instigate; stimulate, kindle, fire.

love = –noun 1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person, a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend, sexual passion or desire, a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart, a love affair; an intensely amorous incident; amour, sexual intercourse; copulation.
—Synonyms 1. tenderness, fondness, predilection, warmth, passion, adoration. 1, 2. Love, affection, devotion all mean a deep and enduring emotional regard, usually for another person. Love may apply to various kinds of regard: the charity of the Creator, reverent adoration toward God or toward a person, the relation of parent and child, the regard of friends for each other, romantic feelings for another person, etc. Affection is a fondness for others that is enduring and tender, but calm. Devotion is an intense love and steadfast, enduring loyalty to a person; it may also imply consecration to a cause. 2. liking, inclination, regard, friendliness. 15. like. 16. adore, adulate, worship.

desires = To wish or long for; want, To express a wish for; request

Back to the beginning:
charge = to lay a command or injunction upon.

to put a load or burden on or in.
a duty or responsibility laid upon or entrusted to one.
To impose a duty, responsibility, or obligation on.

gazelles = noted for graceful movements and lustrous eyes, characteristically having a slender neck

does = the female of the deer, antelope, goat, rabbit, and certain other animals.
My guess…he related to these two animals because they were the female versions.

I bet studying the Hebrew meaning of the words would bring even more clarity,

but I have not gotten into that yet.

Perhaps better than a promise book…

 “Scripture Keys for Kingdom Living”

Compiled by June Newman Davis

Missionary Evangelist to the whole body of Christ.

 On the cover:

Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

A friend at church found this little sweetie in the bookstore.  She loaned it to me, but I had to buy her a new one because I had so many post-it notes in it!

on Vacations…

after this summer I’m a true-believer in taking time off from work.

:)

I have my first spring break, ever, this March… I may stay home to garden, but come summer… where to go on vacation???

Paris

Venice

Alaska

Greece

After watching the movie, “300,” my brother and I have been studying greece. Fun stuff actually.  Plus I’ve always wanted to go there and check out the surviving ancient structures.  I had so much fun running around Aztec and Mayan ruins in Mexico…

I also recently got a giant globe of the world and had way too much fun spinning it and looking at islands and countries this morning at about 3am…don’t ask me why I was awake, I’m not even sure.  It was fun going back to bed at 5am.  I got to go into work late today.  Nice to mix it up when I can.

Then there are all those cruises…ummmm…midnight buffets…God help us all.

Mom’s been quite the tourist lately: Israel this spring, currently in upper MI on an island and next she’s off to Hawaii.  I am beyond happy for her!  God ROCKS!

No on a laptop…

at least for now.

I recently made this decision after seriously planning on going out and getting one on the tax-free weekend.  It was hard deciding to wait, but I thought about what my life would be like with a laptop…compared to what and where I wanted my life to go without a laptop.

There is still much I want to do before I spend some of probably everyday in front of a machine.

Just the way it is.

Plus I enjoy relaxing outside watching the birds and butterflies in the flowers.
